CSA International, Inc.'s Energy Industry business line focuses on providing marine services associated with the sustainable exploration, production, and research of energy resources. Although concentrated primarily on the oil and gas industry, this business line provides services for the expanding technology and regulation of renewable alternative energy sources, such as wind, tidal, solar, and hydroelectric.CSA established itself as an experienced, high-quality marine environmental contractor by providing services within the U.S. for a wide cross-section of the oil and gas sector during the industry boom in the 1970s and 1980s. These services included the development of environmental impact statements and assessments as well as full-service programs for regulatory compliance for offshore exploration and production. As the oil and gas industry expanded and corporations developed their interests worldwide, CSA International, Inc. mirrored this corporate expansion by identifying suitable markets and opening regional offices in strategic areas, which now support a wide range of CSA services.
To assist corporations and government agencies in meeting engineering and logistical constraints of energy development and distribution, most CSA Energy Industry projects involve identifying and minimizing potential environmental impacts. CSA offers services that integrate environmental and socioeconomic studies required for the assessment of environmental and social impacts resulting from large developments. Environmental studies include baseline surveys (i.e., habitat characterization and social censuses), monitoring, fate and effects modeling, impact assessment, and restoration/mitigation.
