Planning assists communities and government agencies to develop emergency management, hazard mitigation, and disaster recovery plans.

CSA International, Inc. (CSA) developed a Sea Level Rise Response Strategy for Worcester County, Maryland to identify and assess response options for the expected impacts of accelerated sea level rise caused by climate change.  The study included an analysis of the impacts that modeled future sea level rise inundation would have on development patterns and environmental and cultural resources in Worcester County and its municipalities.  The direct sea level rise impacts studied included inundation of…
Highlands County and its municipalities received grant funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to develop a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP).  CSA International, Inc. In 2010, CSA International, Inc. The Hillsborough County Post‑Disaster Redevelopment Plan (PDRP) was one of the pilot PDRPs prepared as a result of the State of Florida Post-Disaster Redevelopment Planning Initiative.  It is a comprehensive strategy for long-term holistic community recovery following a major disaster.  The Plan addresses a wide variety of redevelopment topics and, notably, is the first Florida PDRP to have a chapter dedicated to health and social services.  The PDRP is also the first to define the…
In 2010, CSA International, Inc. (CSA) completed the State of Florida’s Post‑Disaster Redevelopment Planning: A Guide for Florida Communities. The guidebook was part of a 3-year State initiative to develop standards for post-disaster redevelopment planning and to test those standards on representative Florida communities.  CSA was the prime contractor for this initiative, and, during the drafting of the guidebook, staff conducted comprehensive research on long-term recovery issues that are pertinent to a variety of Florida…
