Mr. Lincoln Walther, Planning Director of marine environmental consuting firm CSA International, Inc., was recently inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Planners, the Professional Institute of the American Planning Association (APA). This induction represents recognition by his peers of Mr. Walther’s significant contributions to his profession over his career. He has served as a local and state officer in the APA.  However, more importantly, he has made a unique and significant contribution to the advancement of planning in disaster planning.

Through Mr. Walther's leadership over the past 10 years, the importance of integrating hazards, both natural (e.g., hurricane, flooding, wildfire, and sea level rise) and man-made (e.g., terrorism) has become more widely accepted by those in the planning profession. He has had an opportunity to shape many of Florida’s cutting-edge hazard mitigation initiatives. Additionally, Mr. Walther serves as a member of the Florida State Hazard Mitigation Planning Advisory Team.
