CSA International, Inc. (CSA) is pleased to announce that it is a proud sponsor of the 2011 American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) National Coastal Conference: "Expanding Coastal Horizons" to be held 18-21 October in New Orleans, Louisiana.  The theme of the 2011 conference, Expanding Coastal Horizons, recognizes that coastal issues extend beyond the narrow strip where waves wash ashore.  Coastal protection also includes inland marshes, bays, estuaries, and offshore areas (including offshore energy) and is governed and funded by an expanding array of stakeholders.

Over the last century, erosion of Florida’s sandy beaches has become a serious issue due to the creation and deepening of navigational inlets, construction of jetties, seawalls and other structures, and natural causes such as severe storms and hurricanes.  Environmental services associated with beach restoration and renourishment projects throughout the State of Florida have been an integral component of CSA’s Coastal and Ocean Sciences Business Line for over 30 years.  During this timeframe, beach restoration programs have been at the forefront of Florida’s beach management programs in order to restore sandy beach resources and protect upland properties.
